She holds a degree in Medicine from Universidade Federal Fluminense (1999). She completed her medical residency in Pediatrics at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – Instituto de Puericultura e Pediatria Martagão Gesteira (IPPMG/UFRJ) in 2002, where she also specialized in Pediatric Hematology (2003). In 2004, she obtained the title of Pediatric Oncologist from the National Cancer Institute (INCA). She earned her PhD in Clinical Medicine from UFRJ (2019), which included a doctoral sandwich program at the Cancer Research Center of the University of Salamanca, Spain, under the supervision of Professor Alberto Orfao, with a CNPq fellowship. She works on the investigation of new methods for diagnosing and monitoring pediatric solid tumors through flow cytometry at IPPMG/UFRJ, and also serves as a transfusion medicine physician at the Transfusion Medicine Service of IPPMG/UFRJ. She is a member of the European consortium on flow cytometry – EuroFlow.
