19 09 PPGCM Novos Docentes NoticiaThe Graduate Program in Clinical Medicine (PPGCM) at UFRJ welcomes six new permanent faculty members, who arrive to strengthen the institution's research, academic training, and scientific excellence.

Karina Bilda de Castro Rezende – Physician from UFRJ, specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics, master's and doctorate in Medicine. She has worked in health regulation and in sectors of the UFRJ Maternity School, where she is currently head of the Research and Technological Innovation Management Unit. She is a JCNE/FAPERJ and DTIA scholarship recipient.

Cristiane de Sá Ferreira Facio – Physician from UFF, specialist in Pediatrics, Hematology, and Pediatric Oncology. PhD from UFRJ, with a sandwich internship at the University of Salamanca. She works in the diagnosis and follow-up of pediatric solid tumors by flow cytometry at IPPMG/UFRJ and is a member of the European consortium EuroFlow.

Rodrigo Bernardo Serafim – Physician from UFRJ, specialist in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Intensive Care. Master's and PhD from UFRJ, he is an adjunct professor and head of the Department of Internal Medicine at the institution. He also serves as ICU supervisor at Copa D'Or, with experience in critical care, geriatrics, and medical education.

Fabiana Vieira de Mello – Biologist and Doctor of Science from UFRJ, with a sandwich doctorate from the University of Salamanca and postdoctoral studies in the USA. Researcher at IPPMG/UFRJ, she is dedicated to studies in immunophenotyping of hematological neoplasms, sickle cell anemia, and thalassemias.

Fernanda Cristina Carvalho Mattos – Nutritionist and PhD in Nutritional Sciences from UFRJ. Specialist in obesity and bariatric surgery, she works at HUCFF/UFRJ and in postgraduate courses. She is a member of several national and international societies linked to the study of obesity.

Ana Carolina Cardoso de Figueiredo Mendes – Physician from Universidade Gama Filho, specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, with additional training in France. PhD in Clinical Medicine (Hepatology) from UFRJ, she is part of the institution's Hepatology Service.

With different areas of expertise and solid academic and professional experience, the new faculty members reinforce PPGCM's commitment to excellence in education and the advancement of medical science.
