Full Professor of Neurology at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), Director of the Clinical Research Division of the Clementino Fraga Filho University Hospital (HUCFF) at UFRJ. CNPq productivity scholarship holder at level 1B and Scientist of Our State by FAPERJ, where she coordinates the health area and the research network in Precision Medicine for Neurodegenerative Diseases. She created and heads the Translational Neuroscience Laboratory (LABNET) (Ordinance No. 596, dated 12.06.19 UNIRIO), registered on the multi-user platform of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), with resources obtained from CAPES/CNPq, DECIT, FINEP, and FAPERJ calls. LABNET develops next-generation sequencing (NGS) on the ION TORRENT Platform and researches plasma biomarkers on the SIMOA Platform (ultrasensitive single molecule array technology), obtained through the FAPERJ Sediadas Call since 2018, contributing to advances in translational neuroscience. Over the last ten years, supported by CNPq and FAPERJ scholarships, her research group has been substantially consolidating its position in the national and international scientific scene, advancing the understanding of the pathophysiological, immunological, and genetic mechanisms of autoimmune diseases of the central nervous system, including those triggered by viral agents, identifying genetic characteristics and molecular mimicry among heterogeneous phenotypes, with over 150 published articles leading the CNPq research directory in Neuroimmunogenetics in journals such as Nature Medicine, Nature Communications, Cell Reports, Multiple Sclerosis Journal, Epilepsia Research, Scientific Reports, Glia, Frontiers, PLoS One, Viruses, Immunology, among others, with 23,552 views and 2,237 citations, h-index=27 and i10 index=47 according to Google Scholar, Web of Science ISI with 3,501 citations, h-index=27, i10 index=62. She is a Livre Docente (Associate Professor) in Neurology, holding a Master's and Doctorate in Neurology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She was a Fellow at the Epilepsy Service of the Sainte-Anne Hospital at Paris V University, France (2004 and 2006), and the creator of the Epilepsy Centers at HUCFF/UFRJ in 2000, registered as a high-complexity service by the Ministry of Health, and the Epilepsy Center of the Gafrée and Guinle University Hospital at UNIRIO in 2013. She has an international partnership for biomarker research in cerebral cavernomas with the University of Chicago and serves as a scientific advisor for the Cavernoma Alliance Brazil. She has an international partnership with Stanford University for biomarker research in autoimmune encephalitis. She is a member of the Ad-Hoc Committee of CAPES, CNPq, FAPERJ, and ANVISA. She is a reviewer for the journals: Multiple Sclerosis and Related Disorders, Tissue Antigens, Journal of Neurological Science, Frontiers, Archives of Neuro-Psychiatry, Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery, Seizure European Journal of Epilepsy, among others. She has been the Principal Investigator (PI) of Phase III Clinical Studies in Demyelinating Diseases and Epilepsies since 1995. In 2018, she completed a fellowship on biomarker updates at the Royal London Hospital, with theoretical and practical activities on the SIMOA platform. Her commitment to training human resources includes the completion and supervision of 90 Master's, Doctorate, and Post-Doctorate students. Google Scholar h-index 68.
