Holds a degree in Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2001), medical residency in Internal Medicine at UFRJ, and is a specialist in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics (by SBGG), and Intensive Care (by AMIB). Holds a Master's degree (2011) and a Doctorate (2019) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Internal Medicine (Intensive Care) - Capes 7. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of UFRJ and a physician at the Clementino Fraga Filho University Hospital. He works as a general practitioner. He is the Head of the Internal Medicine Department at UFRJ and Coordinator of the Internal Medicine II PCI of the medical undergraduate program (6th semester) at UFRJ. He is the Supervising Physician of the ICU at Copa Dor Hospital. Member of the Analgesia and Sedation Commission of AMIB. He was president of SBGG from 2012 to 2014. He serves as a reviewer for various scientific journals in the fields of Internal Medicine, Intensive Care, and Geriatrics (RBTI, PlosOne, Journal of Critical Care, and British Medical Journal). He has expertise in caring for clinical patients in general, critically ill patients, and the elderly in outpatient and hospital settings. He is interested in medical education and training. He has experience in Medicine, with an emphasis on Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Intensive Care. He has experience in research in Internal Medicine and Intensive Care, mainly focusing on the following topics: delirium, sepsis, mechanical ventilation, and critically ill patients in general.
