Holds a degree in Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1988), a residency in Internal Medicine at HUCFF - Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1990), a Master's in Internal Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1993), and a PhD in Gastroenterology from the Federal University of São Paulo (2002). Currently, she is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a researcher at the D'Or Institute of Research and Education (IDOR). She primarily works on the following topics: viral hepatitis, liver cirrhosis and its complications, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. She is a researcher at CNPq and a Scientist of Our State (CNE-FAPERJ).
