She holds a degree in Medicine from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (1998), a master's degree in Clinical Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2003), and a Ph.D. in Clinical Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2005). She completed a Research Fellowship at Joslin Diabetes Center (Harvard Medical School) from January 2004 to December 2005. She is currently an associate professor level 2 at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a research productivity fellow at CNPQ (level II). She has experience in the field of Medicine, with an emphasis on Endocrinology, primarily working in the area of type 1 diabetes, focusing on the following topics: diabetes mellitus, autoimmunity, treatment, HLA system, and anti-GAD.
