He holds a degree in Medicine from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (1995), a master's degree (2002), and a doctorate (2004) in Internal Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He is currently a researcher at the Intensive Medicine Department of the D'Or Institute for Research and Education (IDOR), a permanent lecturer in the Graduate Program in Medical Sciences at IDOR, and a collaborative lecturer in the Graduate Program in Internal Medicine at UFRJ. He is a founding member of the Coordinating Committee of BRICNet - Brazilian Research in Intensive Care Network and the Caring for Critically Ill Immunocompromised Patients Multinational Network - The Nine-i Network. He was an associate editor for Intensive Care Medicine and the Brazilian Journal of Intensive Care. He acts as a reviewer for various scientific journals in the fields of intensive medicine, oncology, and epidemiology. He is a CNPq Researcher 1D and a FAPERJ Scientist of Our State. He is a founding partner and Director of Research and Development at Epimed Solutions, responsible for developing the Epimed Monitor System, which provides analytics, benchmarking, and predictive analysis solutions for ICUs and hospitals in Europe and Latin America. He has experience in innovation and the development of information technology solutions for benchmarking and evaluating clinical performance and efficiency in the hospital healthcare and Clinical Research in Intensive Medicine, primarily focusing on the following topics: research with large databases, prognostic analysis, performance and efficiency assessment in ICUs, organization, quality and patient safety in ICUs, intensive care for cancer patients, and epidemiological studies in patients admitted to intensive care.
