She holds a degree in Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1979), a master's degree in Internal Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1987), and a doctorate in Gastroenterology from the Federal University of São Paulo (1997). She has been an Associate Professor of Gastroenterology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro since 1996. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Hospital Clinic-Barcelona (2011). She is the coordinator of clinical protocols with new medications in the Gastroenterology Service. She has experience in the field of Medicine, with an emphasis on Gastroenterology, working on the following topics: intestinal diseases with a primary focus on inflammatory bowel disease (clinical, epidemiological, diagnostic aspects, multicentric clinical protocols with new medications, nutrition, quality of life) and celiac disease.
