Fellowship in Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation at San Martino Hospital, Genoa, Italy (1986 to 1988) and Visiting Professor at the Multiple Myeloma Research Center of the University of Arkansas, USA (2000). Executive MBA in Health from COPPEAD-UFRJ (1998). Currently, he is a Professor of Hematology in the Department of Clinical Medicine at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a Permanent Faculty Member of the Graduate Program in Clinical Medicine at UFRJ (CAPES 7). Research Productivity Scholar 1C of CNPq and Scientist of Our State of FAPERJ. President of the Brazilian Association of Hematology, Hemotherapy, and Cellular Therapy - ABHH (Biennium 2024/2025). Vice President of the Brazilian Group for Multiple Myeloma - GBRAM, listed in the Directory of Brazilian Research Groups of CNPq. Member of the "International Myeloma Working Group" and the Scientific Council of the "International Myeloma Foundation, Latin America." Coordinator of the Hematology Research Program at the Americas Institute of Education, Research, and Innovation. Hematology Coordinator at Americas Oncology - R.J. Research Group Leader of the Oncobiology Program, UFRJ. President of the Brazilian Congress of Hematology, Hemotherapy, and Cellular Therapy (HEMO 2019). He has two main lines of research: (1) Multiple Myeloma: epidemiology, pathogenesis, prognostic factors, and therapeutic strategies. (2) Bone marrow transplantation: biology, clinical indications, and procedure-related complications.
