He is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of UFRJ and a physician at the Clementino Fraga Filho University Hospital. He works as a general practitioner. He is the Head of the Internal Medicine Department at UFRJ and Coordinator of the Internal Medicine II PCI of the medical undergraduate program (6th semester) at UFRJ. CNPq productivity scholarship holder at level 1B and Scientist of Our State by FAPERJ, where she coordinates the health area and the research network in Precision Medicine for Neurodegenerative Diseases. She created and heads the Translational Neuroscience Laboratory (LABNET) (Ordinance No. 596, dated 12.06.19 UNIRIO), registered on the multi-user platform of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), with resources obtained from CAPES/CNPq, DECIT, FINEP, and FAPERJ calls. LABNET develops next-generation sequencing (NGS) on the ION TORRENT Platform and researches plasma biomarkers on the SIMOA Platform (ultrasensitive single molecule array technology), obtained through the FAPERJ Sediadas Call since 2018, contributing to advances in translational neuroscience. She is a Livre Docente (Associate Professor) in Neurology, holding a Master's and Doctorate in Neurology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She was a Fellow at the Epilepsy Service of the Sainte-Anne Hospital at Paris V University, France (2004 and 2006), and the creator of the Epilepsy Centers at HUCFF/UFRJ in 2000, registered as a high-complexity service by the Ministry of Health, and the Epilepsy Center of the Gafrée and Guinle University Hospital at UNIRIO in 2013. She has an international partnership for biomarker research in cerebral cavernomas with the University of Chicago and serves as a scientific advisor for the Cavernoma Alliance Brazil.
